Next month, 12 Northwood University students will enjoy a front-row seat at North America’s largest heavy duty aftermarket conference.
“A dozen Northwood students have been selected to participate in the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) internship program,” explained Dr. Thomas Litzinger, executive director of the University of the Aftermarket and aftermarket education industry chair at Northwood University. “Students will work collaboratively with the heavy duty aftermarket community as they introduce and demonstrate the latest innovations in our industry.”
HDAW is set to take place Jan. 20-23, 2025, in Grapevine, Texas. Northwood students will be attending thanks to a collaboration with MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers, AWDA, and CVSN.
“I would like to thank our program sponsors for their investment in the future of the heavy-duty aftermarket by providing a hands-on experience for our Northwood students who are uniquely qualified and highly sought after,” Litzinger noted. “Thank you, AWDA, CVSN, and MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers for your unwavering support.”
Shannon O’Brien, senior director at MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers and organizer of the HDAW 2025 Intern Program, had high praise for Northwood students.
“The students of Northwood have always amazed me with their high level of professionalism and industry knowledge,” O’Brien stated. “Our program sponsors look forward to providing an educational and immersive week for the students who are attending this year’s HDAW.”
O’Brien explained that the heavy-duty aftermarket industry is in great need of new talent. The HDAW internship program aims to educate and inform students about the industry while connecting them with a large network of companies and leaders who can help put them on a path to success within the industry.
