Northwood students invite the community to participate in a Northwood Pickleball Tournament on Dec. 6 at the Midland Tennis Center.
“This community event, which is being run by sports management students, offers our community a unique opportunity to play pickleball,” stated Dave Marsh, who chairs the sport management degree program at Northwood University. “It also allows our students the opportunity to get real-life experience in event management. The goal is to make this an event for all to enjoy.”
In the tournament, 16 teams of two players will compete for the chance to win prizes. Once registered, each team will be organized into groups that best suit their pickleball experience. There is a $30 registration cost for teams (and a discounted rate of $20 for student teams).

“Spots are limited, so please register as soon as possible,” stated Mario Hansen, a student from Mount Pleasant who is one of the event organizers.
The Northwood Pickleball Tournament will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Attendees are asked to use the entrance on the right side of the building.
