Northwood University is pleased to announce the 45th Annual Stafford Dinner. This year’s theme showcases entertainment and student crafted cuisine centered around classical “Storybook Tales.” Net proceeds from the dinner, silent auction and other contributions will go to the Stafford Memorial Dinner Scholarship Fund. This fund supports Northwood University’s Hospitality Management Students by awarding scholarships to the best and brightest.
Stafford Dinner is held every year in memory of Mr. William D. Stafford, the first chairman of the Hotel, Restaurant & Resort Management Department at Northwood University (then Northwood Institute). From 1969 to 1972, Stafford incorporated his expertise from years in the hospitality industry into the curriculum. He introduced his students to the idea of a dinner with a theme in which the students prepared unique dishes and dinner festivities to showcase their skills and professionalism to alumni, family and leaders of the hospitality industry.
This year’s Stafford Dinner is planned and executed by an executive board of nine students:
Ashley Phillips, Chair
Hailey Hartwick, Vice-Chair and Marketing Chair
Jessica Sierocki, Decorations and Logistics Chair
Tymbre Flint, Food and Beverage Co-Chair
Raquel Escamilla, Food and Beverage Co-Chair
Zachary Barton, Entertainment and Registration Chair
Hannah Siegel, Service Chair
Justin Carter, Fundraising Chair
Brianna Tibbs, Procurement Chair
Advisors for the event are Nicholas Hamilton, Karla Spaeth and Taffy Cline.
The Stafford Dinner is an excellent opportunity for Northwood’s students to showcase their industry skills and professionalism to alumni, family and leaders of the hospitality industry. Each year they step out of the classroom to apply hands-on skills to provide guests with a memorable evening.
Stafford Dinner will be held on February 22, 2020, at the Hach Student Life Center on the campus of Northwood University. Come dressed in your cocktail attire and enjoy an enchanted evening showcasing food, fun and classic stories throughout the night. Tickets are $80.00 per person for a five-course dinner, games and an evening of live improvisational entertainment.
