Northwood University is hosting its first-ever President’s Freedom Celebration on June 22.
“The mood is jubilant here at Northwood, as we invite the community to come celebrate our successes as we look to the future and honor remarkable commitments from our supporters,” stated President Kent MacDonald. “Most importantly, this will be a joyous event for like-minded citizens who value free enterprise and limited government, while also championing ‘Liberty and Business for All!’”
It also will be an occasion to celebrate The Northwood Idea, which is the University’s guiding philosophy. It values freedom, personal responsibility, and free enterprise.
“The President’s Freedom Celebration will recognize donors, friends and community members at a unique, casual cocktail event on our beautiful campus in Midland,” stated Murray Kyte, vice president of advancement for Northwood University. “It will be a summer event you won’t want to miss!”
The President’s Freedom Celebration will include:
• A State of the University address by President MacDonald
• Recognition of this year’s Wings of Freedom honorees
• A strolling dinner featuring selections from Executive Chef Casey Rae and other regional chefs
• A dessert afterglow experience
The event will be followed by a performance by Dave Fenley, an international touring artist who previously was a competitor on NBC’s hit show The Voice. His performance will be the first in Northwood’s new Lincoln Sessions concert series celebrating America.
