Northwood University invites students, faculty, and community members to the latest Leadership Insights: A View from the Helm speaker series installment, featuring Bob Kron, leader of The Rydell Company and newly-appointed executive-in-residence at Northwood University.

An esteemed leader in the automotive and business sectors, Kron serves as president and chief operating officer of The Rydell Company, which operates in 18 states and shares many of the values Northwood University instills in its graduates, such as individual responsibility, a commitment to excellence, and good citizenship.

Northwood University established the Leadership Insights: A View from the Helm speaker series in 2023 to connect the community with leaders who have shaped industries through their expertise, values, and commitment to excellence. The series’ name is inspired by Dr. James Duderstadt’s book, View from the Helm, and each event is designed to bring C-suite-level insights to audiences eager to learn from accomplished executives. Past speakers include former U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos; William S. Stavropoulos, former CEO, and chairman, and chairman emeritus of the Board of Directors of The Dow Chemical Company (Dow); Terence F. Moore, former president of the Midland Hospital and then MidMichigan Health System (MyMichigan Health); Chris Clements, senior vice president and chief financial officer for the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium; Bill Hanvey, president and CEO of the Auto Care Association; Thomas Doll, former president and chief executive officer at Subaru of America; and Dr. Gad Saad, Northwood University visiting professor and global ambassador for The Northwood Idea.

“Northwood University is honored to feature Bob Kron as our newest Leadership Insights speaker, as his leadership and commitment to values-driven business will inspire students, faculty, and community members alike,” stated Dr. Kristin Stehouwer, academic vice president and provost of Northwood University, and moderator of the Leadership Insights: A View from the Helm speaker series.

Kron’s Leadership Insights event will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 20 in the McNair Center for the Advancement of Free Enterprise, located in the Plaster Building off Naegele Drive.

This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP online at https://www.northwood.edu/leadership-insights/.
