Northwood University is pleased to announce that Brian McLeod has been appointed as Vice President of Finance and Administration.
McLeod has proven to be a skilled and experienced financial leader actively participating in strategic, operational, financial, investment, enterprise risk, and compliance aspects throughout his accomplished career. He has held various management roles in both the insurance and public accounting industries in Michigan. His Certified Public Accounting certification rounds out the qualifications Northwood was looking for to lead this significant portfolio.
In addition, McLeod also worked with IT and facilities departments on key strategic and operational initiatives. These two major departments at Northwood will continue to report to the Vice President of Finance and Administration, and will benefit from Brian’s extensive experience.
Notably, the tenets of The Northwood Idea and the University’s Code of Ethics are well-aligned with McLeod’s values and personal philosophy. Recently, he mentioned, “I have always had a passion for organizations that enable individuals and businesses to put their entrepreneurial spirit into action and progress with their initiatives. I fully support The Northwood Idea, and I am strongly drawn to Northwood’s Code of Ethics, which advances its mission, vision, and values. The tenet “achievement” resonates most because I appreciate the importance of persistence, determination, and effort to achieve one’s goals. I believe the success of one team member is a success for the entire team.”
Unlike so many universities across the country, over the past few years, Northwood has strengthened its financial position during these unprecedented times and is now focused on investing in strategic priorities outlined in the University’s 2021-2026 Strategic Plan. While many universities have been challenged financially through the COVID-era, during the first year of its five-year strategic plan, Northwood has experienced growth in both enrollment and revenue. “The time is right for Brian to take the helm of Northwood’s Finance and Administration area, as we look to grow student enrollment and achieve even stronger financial results,” said President Kent MacDonald.
The University will welcome Brian McLeod to the Northwood community on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.
