Northwood University is pleased to announce the creation of the “NU Student Mentor Program – FIRST Robotics.”This program is the first of its type in the United States. A generous grant from the Midland Area Community Foundation will provide funding for Northwood University students to serve as mentors to the seven Midland County FIRST Robotics teams. As business and marketing subject matter experts, Northwood University will provide material support to the Midland County FIRST Robotics teams in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Business Plan Development and Improvement, Strengths and Weaknesses (SWOT) Analysis, Budget Creation and Improvement, Marketing, and Fundraising. The program will officially begin when school resumes in September. However, the work has already begun! Northwood students and volunteer faculty members began developing materials for the Robotics teams in January 2015 and will continue to develop materials throughout the summer.
