Northwood University is partnering with the City of Midland to host Walk Midland each Tuesday over the summer through Aug. 6.
“We had a fantastic experience during our first year as a stop on the Walk Midland rotation, and we are very excited to once again host walkers on our scenic campus this summer,” stated Justin Marshall, chief development and engagement officer for Northwood University.
Walk Midland is organized by the City of Midland to give residents the opportunity to embark on a two-mile walk each day (excluding Saturdays) at different locations over the summer.
Northwood will host walkers each Tuesday, starting next week and running through Aug. 6.
The following is the 2024 Walk Midland Schedule:
Monday: 6 p.m. at City Forest, 2840 Monroe Road (unpaved)
Tuesday: Noon at Northwood University on the corner of West Main Street and University Avenue (paved)
Wednesday: Noon at Averill Preserve, North Saginaw Road just south of North Hope Road and East Wackerly Road (paved/unpaved)
Thursday: Noon at MyMichigan Health Center at the corner of Wellness and McCandless drives (paved)
Friday: 8 a.m. at East End Building, 1000 E. Main St. (paved)
Sunday: 6 p.m. at Tridge Trailhead, 201 Wyman St. (paved)
Walkers are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to have time to fill out a registration form for a drawing that will be held at each walk for a gift certificate to a local ice cream or coffee shop. You will also be registered for the grand prize gift basket.
“This is a great opportunity to win some neat prizes while getting some exercise at ‘Midland’s University,’” Marshall noted.
