JB Ward, who recently joined Northwood University Florida as Assistant Professor and Hospitality Management Department Chair, shared insight with Ashley Porter of the nationally broadcast television show called “The List” regarding business strategies required for long-term stability and success.
With the story highlighting the cupcake fad and the nationally publicized financial challenges of Crumb’s Bake Shop, Ward emphasized the importance of advanced market research, diversifying product lines, the establishment of far reaching delivery systems, and more.
An August, 2014 candidate for a Texas Tech University Ph.D. in Hospitality Administration, Ward holds bachelor and master degrees in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management from the same institution. He has taught for Texas Tech, the American Public University system and Odessa College. He also has over 25 years of service and management experience in the hospitality industry.
Developed by E. W. Scripps after two years of intensive research, The List is a television news magazine that finds the intersection between the news of the day and pop culture on a nightly basis. Airing in seven national markets, its evaluation of the day’s headlines in sometimes unexpected and humorous ways differentiates it from traditional news and entertainment shows.
