Northwood University Florida Campus’ Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) students recently earned a variety of awards and medals from this year’s Florida state and international competitions held in Orlando, Florida and Washington DC.Placing internationally in the top ten were Taron Beckford and Nicholas Cooper in the Financial Statement Analysis category and Michelle Ray in the Fashion Merchandising and Marketing category, and placing in the top three was Juan Guerrero in the Hotel & Lodging category.
The six competitors who placed in the Florida state competition included:
- Nick Cooper & Taron Beckford – 1st place in Financial Statement Analysis
- Juan Guerrero – 1st place Hotel & Lodging
- Zach Lieberman – 1st place in Retail Merchandising
- Michelle Ray – 1st place in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing
- Daniel Tellez – 2nd place Hotel & Lodging
