Ryan Sebek, a Northwood alumnus who led the Northwood Esports 2022 Rocket League World Championship roster, is officially the new competitions and broadcast manager for Northwood Esports.
“To say Ryan brings a wealth of experience to this new role is an understatement,” explained Northwood Esports Coach Jacob R. Jacob. “Ryan not only managed our 2022 Collegiate Rocket League World Championship roster, he founded College Halo, the premier collegiate Halo league, while he was a student.”
Sebek joins the Northwood Esports leadership staff, which in addition to Jacob, includes Assistant Coach Aden Frosch. Both Frosch and Jacob are also accomplished esports professionals and graduates of Northwood University. They have been integral to Northwood Esports’ storied role as a dominant competitor in collegiate esports. Since its inception in 2019, Northwood Esports has earned 30 national titles and three global championships.
“Ryan has already played a crucial role in shaping the success of Northwood Esports,” Frosch stated. “His expertise in managing competitions and broadcasts will further elevate our program, ensuring our student-athletes have the best possible experience while keeping our fans engaged with high-quality streams.”
Sebek said he plans to expand Northwood Esports’ streaming capabilities, ensuring daily broadcasts feature student-athletes across all competitive titles. His efforts have already made an impact, with streamed matches for Northwood’s Call of Duty, Rocket League, and Counter-Strike teams this semester.
Sebek also aims to implement a streamlined tracking system for all Northwood Esports matches, ensuring better coordination between team managers and the social media team.
“Ryan’s addition to Northwood Esports – and the creation of this competitions and broadcast manager position – will elevate our program, which continues to solidify Northwood’s reputation as a powerhouse in collegiate esports,” Jacob stated.
