Northwood University Esports is on its second world championship quest as players are arriving in Brazil.
“We defeated 499 of the top collegiate esports teams during the national qualifying tournament last month in Dallas, Texas,” explained Cody Elsen, Northwood Esports coach and program director. “Now it’s time to shock the world by taking down some of the best colleges around the globe when we face them in Brazil!”
Five Northwood University gamers are representing Team USA at the Dec. 13-16 Red Bull Campus Clutch World Final in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
To celebrate the occasion, Red Bull created a hype video about Northwood Esports, which can be viewed here.
The players competing in the world championship include: Braden Dippel of St Louis; Ali Salahedin of New Jersey; Hunter McMillan of Charlotte, North Carolina; Benjamin, Park of Richmond, Virginia; and Micheal Herrera of Dallas, Texas.
If this team is victorious in Brazil, it will be Northwood Esports’ second world championship, as Northwood won the Collegiate Rocket League World Championship in June.
Northwood will be competing against 60 other countries in Brazil for the Valorant world title.
