Delta Zeta hosts Pink Week to support breast cancer awareness

October 16, 2024
Text on a pink background reads, "In October, we wear pink," with "on Wednesdays" crossed out. A small pink ribbon is underneath, promoting breast cancer awareness for Delta Zeta's Pink Week.

The sisters of Delta Zeta are hosting Pink Week through Oct. 17 to raise money for breast cancer awareness.

Delta Zeta will be at Mid Caf this week raising money for the cause. The sorority is auctioning a cooler and selling breast cancer awareness ribbons, stickers, bracelets, and more. All proceeds will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

“In Delta Zeta, our chapter can choose a local philanthropy we would like to support,” says Philanthropy Chair Isabella McDaniel. “Our chapter has chosen to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation to provide further research and support those in need. This organization means a lot to our chapter as we have had alumnae sisters who have battled breast cancer. This is the first year our chapter is hosting Pink Week!”

To show your support on campus, you can paint a rock that will be placed around campus to raise awareness about breast cancer. These rocks will be at tables in front of Mid Caf all week.

“We are deeply committed to our focus on breast cancer awareness,” says Chapter President Liliana Lulgjuraj. “Approximately one out of every eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their life. Our sisters will proudly wear pink throughout the week, showing solidarity with those affected by breast cancer. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the students, faculty, and staff supporting this initiative. Your unwavering support means the world to us!”

If you want to support the cause, stop at the table in Mid Caf. Raffle entries and donations will be accepted until Oct. 17, 2024. For more information, email Isabella McDaniel at .
