High schooler won Zillions Business Pitch Competition at University of Michigan Flint
Northwood University is pleased to announce Kailey Hill, a senior at Bendle High School in Burton, will be serving as co-president of the annual Northwood University LAB Camp program, which brings together students from all over Michigan and as far away as Texas for a weeklong residential camp to learn about business and develop essential skills for success in school, college, business and life.
Hill plans to attend Northwood University in the fall, majoring in sports management with a minor in E-sports management.
Hill already has entrepreneurial experience, as she owns Panc-Pals, an interactive app to help children diagnosed with type one diabetes learn about the disease and how to take care of it through an immersive, game-like process. Recently, Hill entered her business in the Zillions Business Pitch Competition at the University of Michigan Flint, and she won first place. There was quite a bit of competition, as there were over 520 submissions. But this high school senior went on to compete against 10 other finalists who were undergraduate and graduate students at U of M Flint.
Hill intends to further the development of her Panc-Pals app while attending Northwood. She is committed to making Panc-Pals a reality so it can help families, caretakers and children who are affected by juvenile diabetes.
Northwood’s Learning About Business (LAB) Camp program incorporates project-based learning to inspire and develop entrepreneurial, business-minded leaders, in a global, free enterprise environment.
It is a tremendous opportunity for driven young students to grow their business skillset. With the guidance of current Northwood University students and faculty, campers learn how the entrepreneurial mindset can lead to success in a global free-enterprise society. LAB also allows for students to experience what life is like here at Northwood. The lessons and skills that campers learn here can start a future business leader’s career.
This year’s LAB Camp is set to take place June 19-24 at Northwood University in Midland. For more information, or to register, visit Our LAB Camp page.
