This month, Alpha Chi Omega will celebrate Healthy Relationships Week as part of their ongoing work to promote domestic violence awareness.
“This event, which began in 2008, has grown into a cherished tradition that our entire chapter eagerly anticipates each year,” stated Chapter President Lilliana Bernier. “One of the most heartwarming aspects is seeing the joy and connection it brings as individuals share flowers with those they care about. We couldn’t be more excited to continue spreading positivity, love, and awareness!”
Leading up to Valentine’s Day, Alpha Chi Omega will be selling roses outside of Mid-Cafe for Shelterhouse of Midland, which helps survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing safety, shelter, counseling, and advocacy.
Alpha Chi Omega’s philanthropy is focused on domestic violence awareness. During Healthy Relationships Week, students will promote domestic violence awareness by exploring what it means to be in a healthy relationship.
“For Alpha Chi Omega, Healthy Relationships Week holds a special place in our hearts,” states Vice President of Philanthropy Skylar Beall. “It’s an incredible opportunity to raise awareness about a cause we care about while also supporting Shelterhouse, which offers free and confidential services to domestic abuse survivors. Each year, Healthy Relationships Week continues to grow, and we cannot wait to see the impact it will have this year.”
Alpha Chi Omega will be tabling outside the Mid-Café from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 11-13. Roses can be purchased for $2, and other donations will be accepted. For more information, email Skylar Beall or follow the Alpha Chi Omega Instagram @axozetarho.
