Agreement makes it easier to transfer from Alpena Community College

May 3, 2023
Two people sit at a table draped with a Northwood University tablecloth, smiling as they partake in a formal event. They seem to be discussing an important transfer agreement, possibly involving Alpena Community College.

Northwood University and Alpena Community College recently signed a new transfer articulation agreement.

“This transfer articulation agreement strengthens the long-standing relationship between Northwood and Alpena Community College,” stated Dr. Kristin Stehouwer, provost and academic vice president at Northwood University. “Most importantly, it helps us serve the collective needs of our students,”

Per the new agreement, students can study at Alpena Community College for three years and then transfer to Northwood to complete their degree for majors in high demand: accounting, health care management, management, and management information systems.

Known as transfer agreements, articulation agreements are formal partnerships between two or more colleges. These agreements make it easier for students to transfer to a partnering school without the worry of losing credits.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Stehouwer and Dr. Don MacMaster, president of Alpena Community College.
