About Bob Kron

Bob Kron is an accomplished executive in the automotive and business sectors, currently serving as the President and Chief Operating Officer of The Rydell Company. His leadership has significantly shaped the organization, which operates across 18 states and embodies core values of individual responsibility, commitment to excellence, and good citizenship—principles that resonate with the mission of Northwood University.

In recognition of his extensive experience and dedication to values-driven business, Kron has been appointed as an Executive-in-Residence at Northwood University. His role includes engaging with students and faculty, sharing insights at industry events, and conducting classroom visits, particularly in Northwood’s Automotive Marketing and Management and Automotive Aftermarket Management programs. This appointment allows him to inspire the next generation of leaders in the automotive sector.

Kron began his professional journey in sales at General Mills and subsequently spent 25 years with GlaxoSmithKline, where he rose to the position of Area Vice President. In 2013, he transitioned to The Rydell Company, and his exemplary performance led to his promotion to President and COO in 2021.

A graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, Kron’s diverse career trajectory spans industries, showcasing his adaptability and strategic thinking. He is committed to fostering growth and innovation within the automotive industry, aligning closely with Northwood’s vision of cultivating leaders who contribute to global economic and social progress.
