My Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy centers around the idea to drive students out of their comfort zone. I believe learning begins in the classroom, however, is extended beyond the boundary of those walls and into the experiential learning environment we provide. Events such as Stafford Dinner, Auto-Show and the Style Showcase all provide unique opportunities for students to take ideas, instruction and theory and turn it into a practical, worthwhile learning experience. As a facilitator of learning I hope to guide and mentor through personal knowledge, encouragement, preparation, and perhaps a little humor.
Why I am at NU
I believe in the Northwood Idea – both as a student and as a faculty member. Northwood University is also a place to learn in a more intimate setting. I enjoy the fact that I know my students and they know me. Discussion and instruction is much more two-sided and open. It is very fulfilling to instruct students, see them begin their careers and continue to watch them grow both professionally and personally. Also, I get to work alongside some of the best faculty and staff in business.
