My Teaching Philosophy
Here at Northwood I have had the opportunity to teach developmental math, finite math, college algebra, and business calculus. In my role as an assistant professor of mathematics, I am able to work with students on a daily basis to help them learn mathematics and see its applications in the real world. Mathematics is sometimes a subject that students lack confidence in, so my goal as an educator is to help students gain confidence in their ability and acquire the skills necessary to be successful. I love working with students of all levels and seeing them progress throughout the semester. I work with students in the classroom, in groups, and one-on-one, to provide them with the resources they need to be successful.
Why I am at NU
I am blessed to have the opportunity to teach at Northwood University. Our students here are very career oriented and passionate about their area of study. Since we have small class sizes at Northwood, I am able to get to know my students as individuals during my time working with them. I love that even after students complete my class, I still see them on campus and get to watch them graduate at the end of their degree. Northwood University has created a community with the students, faculty, and staff that I am thrilled to be a part of.
