My Teaching Philosophy
At the heart of my drive to teach is my love of people. I enjoy the unique qualities that each person holds within himself, and I revel in finding out these special attributes as I get to know my students. Another motivation that drives me to teach is the fun of designing learning experiences that invigorate and engage students. Teaching at the university level affords expansive freedom and that brings me joy. I move learning beyond the walls and take students to local theater, concerts or guest speakers as fuel for our learning. Each class meeting is a single experience that we share together, and I have a hand in its conception, delivery and success. Teaching is my muse, my craft and my profession.
