My Teaching Philosophy

“Music rhythms are mathematical patterns. When you hear a song and your body starts moving with it, your body is doing math. The kids in their parent’s garage practicing to be a band may not realize it, but they’re also practicing math.” Said the famous American Basketball legend, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. For me, mathematics, statistics, and data analytics and their various applications are the music I’d like to tinkle with and play. I always bring optimism, energy, and a ‘can do’ attitude to my classes. I encourage students to express themselves freely and guide them to think logically. I believe in using teaching strategies that help promote learning experiences, motivate students, and develop critical thinking through the implementation of student-centered learning activities and projects.
