Corporate Vice President, Chief Information Officer, Chief Digital Officer, DOW
Melanie Kalmar is corporate vice president, chief information officer and chief digital officer for Dow. She drives the global strategy for information technology, digital capabilities, business process solutions and analytics to advance Dow’s growth and business strategies. Melanie has global responsibility for cybersecurity and risk management, reporting and advanced analytics, facilities management and the Dow Services Business. She is also a member of Dow’s Executive Leadership Team and chairs the Executive Steering Team, which is accountable for providing the overarching vision and corporate priorities, allocating resources and managing overall risk for IT and digital investments.
A change agent within Dow, Melanie is a driver of key transformational efforts working in partnership with functional and business leaders. She’s been involved in leading many new capabilities for Dow including digital strategy, enterprise resource planning, global reporting, e-business and e-commerce. She also holds several leadership roles focused on driving the company’s diversity and inclusion strategy, including membership in the President’s Inclusion Council and executive sponsor of PRIME, the employee resource group focused on engaging the 50+ population.
Melanie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. She completed the Executive Education Program at Babson College and the Thunderbird International Leadership Program in Phoenix, Arizona. Melanie is a Director for Dorinco Reinsurance Company, Advisory Board member of the Michigan Council for Women in Technology Foundation, and a member of the Dean’s Council for Central Michigan University’s School of Business.
