Evelyn Pitschke maintained a law office for many years. She earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Indiana University. She was a volunteer public relations chairman for various bar associations, conducted a radio program for four years in the late 1940s and wrote, produced and emceed a television show in 1961-62. Miss Pitschke was a delegate to the IWY Conference in Houston, Texas in 1977. She was a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Lawyers’ Association of Indianapolis, the American Bar Association and is a Fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation and a member of Soroptimist International. Miss Pitschke was an active promoter of Northwood. She served as a member of the Taste of Indianapolis and the FAD Auction committees and the National Women’s Board. “I became interested in Northwood because it is a college which emphasizes the sound American philosophy and form of government and the free enterprise economic system… I consider Northwood as another one of my public relations projects and am proud and happy to have the association. There is such joy and enthusiasm among Northwood’s supporters, to whom I refer as ‘acquired alumni’.” (Deceased 1997)
