Linda Brock-Nelson was born in Austin, Texas. She received her degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University and a Master’s in counseling from Arizona State University. She received her MBA in Business and her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Arizona State University in 1998. She is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Business Owners and Presidents Management Class 17. For 25 years she was owner, President and CEO of the Linda Brock Automotive Plaza, selling BMW, Dodge, Volkswagen and Oldsmobile, until the sale of her dealership in February 1995. She was the first woman car dealer in the state of Arizona and was ranked as the largest woman-owned business in the Phoenix Metropolitan area at the time of the sale. Linda is embarking on a career of public speaking, specializing in keynote speeches and leading seminars focused on success, leadership and negotiations. She is an arbitrator of large, complex cases for the American Arbitration Association. She is chairwoman of the Arizona State Transportation Board and serves on the Maricopa Association of Governments Council. She also serves on the boards for the Arizona Community Foundation, Harvard Business School Club and Scottsdale Symphony. She is a member of the Greater Phoenix Leadership and East Valley Partnership. She is a graduate of Leadership 2000, Valley and Leadership America. She also served on the Scottsdale School Governing Board for two years. Linda is married to Dr. Arthur Nelson. They have six children and nine grandchildren.
