Penelope J. Hawkey joined Bloom FCA! (now Publicis Bloom) in March, 1985, as president and creative director, responsible for the creative product of the New York office. She is currently vice chairman/chief creative officer. As president, Penny was a driving force in spurring the growth of the agency and has been recognized for strong professional contributions. In 1990 she received the Women in Communications Matrix Award and was named AWNY Advertising Woman of the Year. During 1991 she was featured in the Wall Street Journal’s series on distinguished creative leaders. Penny joined Bloom FCA! from McCann Erickson, where she spent ten years and rose to senior vice president, group creative director. At McCann Penny produced scores of award-winning television commercials. She began her advertising career in 1965 at Grey Advertising. From Grey she moved to J. Walter Thompson and rose to vice president, senior writer on the Warner-Lambert Listerine and Blue Cross/Blue Shield accounts, Penny resides is Ossining, NY with her husband Bill and five children. She serves on the Board of Governors of the American Association of Advertising Agencies, the Ad Council, the AWNY Foundation, Childhope and Partnership For A Drug Free America.
