Dollie Cole has limitless energy for friends and activities that bring people together who can help each other walk through this life with a better attitude and more success. Her favorite saying is that each of us wakes up every morning with the opportunity of being glad or sad, good or bad, productive or hopeless. It’s everyone’s personal choice as to what we do with our lives. Dollie often refers to her late husband, Ed Cole, former President of General Motors, as the smartest and most interesting man she ever knew. The corporate world of business became a major part of her life. She became Senior Editor of Curtis Publishing and often wrote about the corporate world in a humorous way. Writing is her passion and soon her book “Piston Power by Motor Mouth” will find its way to the book stores. Recently Dollie appeared in the role of the Governor’s wife and Susan Dey’s mother-in-law in “Bed of Lies”, an ABC Movie of the Week. She has appeared in several other movies shot at her Texas ranch as well. She has served on the board of directors of HPSC Inc., Project HOPE, the World Health Organization, the National Captioning Institute for the Hearing Impaired, the President’s Club of the University of Michigan, Michigan State Chancellor’s Club – Oakland University, National Academy of Sciences President’s Circle and the Myer Prentess Cancer Foundation. She serves as Vice Chairman of the National Air & Space Museum and the National Corvette Museum and has just finished six years on the Smithsonian National Board. Dollie has donated a ranch to the Pegasus School for abused boys in Lockhart, Texas in her husband’s name, where 100 abused boys live until they are 18 years of age. Ten dogs, six cats, one sheep, one donkey and forty horses share her life at the Briarpatch Ranch near Lockhart, Texas.
