J. B. Fuqua, a prominent Georgia businessman, served four terms in the Georgia legislature, three in the House, one in the Senate, 1957- 1964. He was Chairman of the House Banking Committee four years and Chairman of the Senate Banking Finance Committee two years. Mr. Fuqua was Chairman of the Democratic Executive Committee of Georgia and the Democratic Party of Georgia, 1962-66 and now he serves on the Board of Directors for several business and educational institutions. Duke University’s business school is named The Fuqua School of Business in his honor. He received the prestigious Horatio Alger Award in 1984.
