Richard H. Ruch assumed responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer of Herman Miller, Inc., on January 1, 1988, and also became the President of the company in April 1990. He was elected to the Herman Miller Board of Directors in 1985. He also serves on the board of directors at Milcare, Herman Miller Europe, Paragon Bank, and BIFMA (Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association).
