Grace Bennett Reed attended the University of Michigan where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Her parents are the late Eva and Dr. Earl W. Bennett. Dr. Bennett was Chairman of the Board of The Dow Chemical Company. Her late husband, Charles F. Reed, Jr., was a member of the Northwood Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Northwood of Texas. A member of the Junior League of Houston, she also belongs to the River Oaks Garden Club, the Houston Country Club and the Northwood National Women’s Board. She is the mother of three children and several grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Reed supported Northwood in its earliest days and Grace Reed has been a great friend of the University and its founders through the years. She states, “Northwood graduates offer great potential to business because the type of courses offered and their training in the free enterprise philosophy reflect the current demands of today’s changing business world.”
