1971 – Midland, Michigan
Paula Shaun Ulmer holds a Bachelor of Business Administration dual degree in Marketing and Management from Northwood University and a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Southern Methodist University. While living in Midland, Michigan she served on Northwood’s National Women’s Board and Town & Campus Executive Board and the boards of the Midland Center for the Arts, Symphony League, Symphony Orchestra Society, Art Council, Music Society, Theatre Guild, Midland Cancer Society and as a member of Women’s Study Club. As a writer, she contributed features and concert critiques to area newspapers and worked as an advertising copywriter and producer of commercials for area radio and television stations. She also produced and hosted a weekly cable television and radio show in cooperation with the Midland Center for the Arts. As a performer, she was featured in numerous Theatre Guild and Music Society productions, including the starring role in “Hello Dolly.” Moving to Dallas, she worked for many years in the National Arts office for Northwood with a number of creative programs, including Musical Theatre and Studio and Arts and Business Conferences. She was a member of the Prestonwood Baptist Church and its 400-voice choir. Later, on Northwood University’s Texas campus, she was the Assessment Center Coordinator in the University College and, on the adjunct faculty, taught traditional and adult students. Now back in Michigan, she currently serves as Registrar for the University College.
