1972 – Midland, Michigan
Louise Hadler worked for members of the Dow family in various positions of high trust and confidence for more than forty-eight years. Fresh from school, she entered the sales department of The Dow Chemical Company. Her unusual abilities were soon recognized and she was transferred to the office of the late Dr. Willard H. Dow, then Assistant General Manager, on the death of his father, company founder Herbert H. Dow. She was later employed by Mr. and Mrs. Alden B. Dow and by the late Grace A. Dow in positions of responsibility. Through her capable hands passed the details of hundreds of key decisions, decisions which she guarded, influenced and implemented. Though Louise Hadler made her mark in the Midland community with minimum fanfare, she was a tireless worker on PTA boards, for the American Red Cross, the Women’s Association of Memorial Presbyterian Church, King’s Daughters Home board and as a member of the Culver Mother’s Club. She attached particular importance to her work as Deacon, Memorial Presbyterian Church and her membership in Northwood’s Town & Campus chapter of the National Women’s Board. (Deceased 1979)
