Vera K. Ford

January 1, 1974

1974 – Brownwood & Dallas, Texas

A graduate of many executive training programs in management, real estate, advertising, public relations and interior decorating, Vera Ford is convinced that education is for everyone and that the need for learning and growing intellectually exists in everyone, no matter how young or old. Mrs. Ford spent two years studying law before she began her highly successful career in the world of business. Her professional positions have included public relations activities for Tanglewood Yacht and Country Club on Lake Texoma and the management of a number of luxury apartment complexes. Her life has been busy, active and sometimes hectic. But Vera Ford always made time for many civic activities including The Dallas Civic Opera Guild, TACA, The Dallas Council on World Affairs, The National Home Fashions League (now IFDA) and the Dallas Library League. She is a long-time Northwood Dallas Women’s Board member. A dedicated friend and supporter of Northwood, Mrs. Ford says, “I believe in the philosophy of the school and I enjoy being a part of its promotion. I am extremely interested in education because I think it is our ‘salvation’ not only for individuals but for the success of our industries and for the country as a whole. I have great admiration and respect for Northwood’s founders and for the many people over the country who work in any capacity toward its success.” (Deceased 2000)
