Edna Meyer Rothbart was born in Connecticut and at an early age moved to Beverly Hills, California. She studied music and painting, attending school in Italy. Her paintings have been exhibited in the Palm Springs Desert Museum where she is a charter member. She was married twenty-eight years to Edward Rothbart, a prominent attorney in Chicago, and lived there until 1970. She now resides in Palm Springs. in Chicago, she was associated with Poetry Magazine, Alliance Francaise and the English Speaking Union, a member of the Arts Club and life member of the Chicago Art Institute. Continuing her involvement, she is a member of the Palm Springs Desert Hospital Auxiliary, the National Farm and Garden Association and was founding president of the Palm Springs Garden Club in 1972. She was a charter member and hospitality chairman of International Orphans, Inc. and the Eisenhower Hospital Women’s Auxiliary in Palm Desert. She was the founding chairman of the Palm Springs chapter of Northwood’s National Women’s Board and currently serves as National Chairman for the Endowment Fund. “I am interested in Northwood because everyone connected with it seeks quality,” notes Mrs. Rothbart.
