The Northwood Idea Center provides a creative space for Northwood students, staff, and the Midland community.

As Midland’s University, our goal is to provide a modern space for co-working and connection. The Center is open for local artists, entrepreneurs, and innovators.

We have numerous spaces available for use, including the Gather Space, Work Space, and Create/Maker Space. At this time, our work spaces are only available to Northwood University students and staff, but we are looking to extend this connection to our community members in the near future. Our goal is to ensure that programming and events held at the Idea Center contribute to areas of innovation, entrepreneurship, or creativity.

Join us for Doxa Dinner

Doxa Dinners are designed to address the needs of local entrepreneurs and foster community support for those solving problems through new and creative ideas! At a Doxa micro-grant dinner—friends, family, and community members come together to hear the entrepreneurial ideas forming in their area and to help seed-fund startups and small businesses that aim to improve the quality of life for those around them!

Attendees contribute $5 at the door which is then added to the pool of funds to be awarded at the end of the night. Five local individuals present a 5-minute verbal pitch about their business idea and attendees vote on who receives the micro-grant. Doxa Dinners are a great way for people who have business ideas but aren’t prepared to take out a loan or have a large network to work with.
