Michael L. Burkhardt, Assistant Professor of Insurance Risk Management at Northwood University, has been featured on WalletHub’s “Ask the Experts.”

Dr. Burkhardt leads Northwood’s Insurance Risk Management Program and is a certified Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).

On WalletHub, Dr. Burkhardt discusses inexpensive insurance, including why insurance rates (and even providers) vary so much from state to state. He weighs in on whether it’s riskier to drive in some cities and states than others, and what state and local governments can do to promote cheap car insurance rates for their constituents. He also answers why credit history has more of an impact on car insurance rates in some states than others. Lastly, he addresses whether inexpensive car insurance is bad insurance.
