The deadline is fast approaching to register for Full Tank Automotive Camp, a premier five-day experience that fuels future careers for high schoolers who are passionate about the automotive industry.

Held June 15-20, 2025, in Midland, Michigan, Full Tank Automotive Camp immerses campers in the exciting world of automotive careers through hands-on workshops, business tours, and dynamic learning experiences led by industry experts and Northwood faculty.

“The industry connections, friendships, and professional skills that Full Tank campers gain in just five days are incredible,” said Alex Mazon, a student from Westchester, New York, who was the general chair of the 2024 Northwood University International Auto Show and is the director of the 2025 Full Tank Automotive Camp. “Campers leave with valuable insights and experiences they can carry into high school, college, and beyond. The camp truly provides a genuine opportunity for high schoolers to fuel the start of an automotive career.”

From visiting the Automotive Hall of Fame to touring automotive businesses and catching a Great Lakes Loons game at Dow Diamond, campers will explore career pathways across design, development, sales, marketing, and the aftermarket — all while having fun and making lifelong connections.

“Through immersive learning, field trips, and real-world challenges, students gain a unique understanding of the many exciting opportunities in the automotive world,” noted Professor Elgie Bright, who chairs Northwood’s Automotive Marketing/Management degree program. “These experiences are designed to help campers develop essential teamwork and problem-solving skills while building lasting professional connections.”

Participants will be mentored by current Northwood students, expert faculty, and professionals working in the field.

“Through Full Tank Automotive Camp, we will give students an exciting platform to explore their interests, sharpen their skills, and even make career connections that can fuel their passion,” added Vanessa Collins, a student from Clio, Michigan, who is serving as the marketing director for this summer’s camp.

While the camp is valued at $1,500, support from private donors — including a generous $100,000 gift from General Motors — significantly reduces the cost for students. Financial assistance is also available for those who qualify.

“We don’t want cost to be a barrier for any high schooler who is passionate about exploring career opportunities in the automotive industry,” Bright emphasized. “But space is limited, demand is high, and the deadline is closely approaching.”
