Founders and Co-Owners, Creation Coffee
It all began with a life changing cup of coffee. We were college buddies who had just experienced the absolute best coffee we had ever tasted—a cup that was leaps and bounds above the stuff from the grocery store that we were used to drinking. We needed more. But after learning that finding fresh roasted coffee was a huge part of getting that incredible cup, we also learned that fresh coffee often comes at a price…and being college students on a budget, we couldn’t afford the bags of coffee from local roasters.
Still thirsty for another life changing cup, we discovered that you could roast coffee at home. In a popcorn popper. So we found one at the local thrift store, ordered a few pounds of green coffee online, and started roasting in the garage.
What started as a way to feed our newfound obsession became a way to share it with family and friends. From there, we decided we wanted to share it with as many people as we could—to create as many life changing cups as possible.
Our coffee is now brewed and enjoyed in coffee shops, restaurants, offices, and homes all across the country. The operation has grown immensely, but the pursuit of excellence and quality remains the same.
Jacob is a Northwood University graduate from the class of 2011. He resides in Bay City, is newly engaged, and will be getting married this fall.
Ben is a Northwood graduate and was the valedictorian of the class of 2014. A resident of Midland, he and his wife are expecting their first child in June.
