Membership expands opportunities for sales students!
Northwood University has officially been accepted as an Associate Member of the University Sales Center Alliance (USCA), a prestigious consortium of more than 80 universities across the U.S. and Europe dedicated to advancing the sales profession through education, research, and outreach. This membership solidifies Northwood’s commitment to delivering premier sales education and preparing students for successful careers in professional sales.
As part of the USCA, Northwood University’s Sales Major and Minor are now certified programs, allowing students to earn a sales certification by completing a combination of coursework and professional experiences. This certification distinguishes Northwood students as highly prepared for the competitive sales industry.
“Being a member of the University Sales Center Alliance positions Northwood University students at the forefront of sales education,” said Dr. Andrew Anderson, Northwood University assistant professor of marketing and sales, and director of the NU Center for Sales Excellence. “Through access to a network of experienced sales educators, specialized resources, and unparalleled mentorship opportunities, our students are equipped to excel in competitive environments.”
In addition to academic benefits, Northwood University’s USCA membership enhances its experiential learning initiatives, including its annual sales competition.
“In February, the NU Center for Sales Excellence will host its second annual sales competition, featuring 25 participants. Sales competitions are a vital part of our commitment to experiential learning,” explained Dr. Anderson. “By engaging directly with corporate sales partners, students gain practical, hands-on experience that sharpens their skills and opens doors to internships and full-time career opportunities.”
Dr. Lenita Davis, president of the USCA, emphasized the impact of USCA membership, stating, “The level of student engagement that USCA member schools provide ensures students are learning more than just content. Our USCA certification signals that a sales program offers a much richer educational and developmental experience.”
“The USCA membership and events like our sales competition highlight Northwood University’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry readiness,” added Dr. Anderson. “These initiatives provide students with valuable networking opportunities and the confidence to thrive in the evolving sales landscape.”
