Aims & Scope
Founded by Northwood University’s Department of Economics in 2024, Emporos aims to be a valuable addition to the vast business literature by bridging practical and theoretical knowledge.
It provides quick access to dispersed insights concerning everyday business interactions—including knowledge that is typically accessible only to those directly involved. To capture this wealth of experience, we invite both business professionals and academics to share their insights through this innovative and open-minded outlet. The journal is interested in insights on the practice and teaching of business in the context of a system of private enterprise.
Contributions must be concise and direct, with a word limit of 2,500. This format is designed to disseminate localized knowledge, avoiding tangents, and maintaining the contribution’s central focus intact. The publication is released annually during the Spring semester by Northwood University. The journal also publishes the lectures that appear in Northwood University’s Freedom Seminar. These articles are invitation-only and not available for submission.
The journal follows a single-blind peer review process, and it has a special issue format. To be considered for publication in the upcoming Spring 2026 issue, authors must first submit an abstract by March 15, 2025. No more than ten articles will be invited to present their paper in a colloquium held at Northwood University in the Summer 2025. Final submissions are due November 15, 2025.
Please submit your work to the journal at . All submissions should follow Chicago-Style citation guidelines. While the journal primarily fosters scholarship within the Northwood University community, contributions from scholars at other institutions are welcome.
