Northwood University American Marketing Association members competed in a regional sales competition from Oct. 10-11, 2024, at Saginaw Valley State University.

Morley Companies, the competition’s presenting sponsor, challenged participants to offer recall management business process outsourcing services to a fictitious automotive manufacturer. Students also had to create emails and voicemails.

Northwood’s Alex Wilber, of Muskegon, and Jure Vrecar, of Slovenia, were the overall champions of their respective flight groups. Vrecar also received the best email award. Mariah Thompson, of Houghton Lake, earned first place for a voicemail she created as part of the competition, and she and Bella Shay, of Hale, received the most coachable honors.

All Northwood students who attended the event — including Andrew Vogel, of Midland — left the competition with refined sales skillsets and new contacts made through networking with sales professionals and other students. Winners also received cash prizes.
