Northwood University invites the community to attend two symposiums in April highlighting research by students, faculty and staff.
“In the world of higher education, student and faculty research drives progress, fuels discovery, and illuminates the path toward a brighter future,” stated Dr. Kristin Stehouwer, vice president of academics and provost. “We welcome the public to attend and learn from the work being done at Northwood University.”
A Faculty/Staff/DBA Student Research and Scholarly Activity Symposium will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. April 22 in Griswold Lecture Hall.
This is the third annual research symposium featuring Northwood faculty.
“This series is one of many avenues available to celebrate our faculty and staff members’ expertise and inform the community on topics about which they are passionate,” Stehouwer explained. “In addition, our doctoral students will present overviews of their dissertation studies.”
An Undergraduate Student Research and Scholarly Activity Symposium will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. April 29 in Griswold Lecture Hall.
This is Northwood University’s first research symposium featuring undergraduate students.
Common forms of undergraduate research and scholarly activity at Northwood include community projects, capstone projects, and research papers.
“Undergraduate students engage in many thoughtful and creative research projects during their time here at Northwood, often with dramatic results,” Stehouwer noted. “The symposium gives students an opportunity to share their research outside of the classroom. Additionally, it will allow the Northwood and Midland communities to celebrate our scholarly contributions.”
Both symposiums are free and open to the public. Each event will be followed by a small reception. For more information, or to RSVP to save a spot for one or both symposiums, visit https://www.northwood.edu/research-scholarly-activity-symposium/
