This weekend, Northwood Esports won the Saints x Colleague Rocket League Invitational, which features the top eight collegiate Rocket League teams from the Great Lakes regions of the U.S. and Canada.

“The team met all expectations they had set for themselves and added another trophy to their growing collection,” stated Coach Aden Frosch, assistant director of Northwood Esports. “Coming into the invitational, everyone knew Northwood was the team to beat. Once again, our outstanding players proved why they’re a part of the biggest dynasty of Collegiate Rocket League (CRL) history.”

In addition to Northwood, other universities at this weekend’s invitational included host St. Clair College, as well as Davenport University, Oakland University, Grand Valley State University, Akron University, Durham College, and Conestoga College.

“We’re the best team in Collegiate Rocket League without a question, and after competing against and beating the other top teams this semester, it just proves it even more,” stated Kadin “Zineel” Zineelabidine, of Franklin Park, Illinois. “As the new player on the roster, I’m excited that I got to claim my first trophy with the team, and we’re looking to win more.”

Other players on Northwood’s winning Rocket League team included Stephen “HockE” Hoelbinger, of West Deptford, New Jersey, and Hunter “LionBlaze” Woitas, of San Tan Valley, Arizona.

As for this team’s future, the National Esports Collegiate Conference playoffs begin with virtual play on March 22. The grand finals will be played May 5 in Arlington, Texas.
