Northwood University will be celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week in a way that will help students and community members interested in growing a business idea.
“When it comes to entrepreneurship, Northwood means business,” stated Patrick McElgunn, director of the Northwood Idea Center in downtown Midland. “This year, we are taking Global Entrepreneurship Week to the next level with a week of events designed to inspire, educate, and grow the entrepreneurial spirit of our students and community.”
Here’s a look at some of the events planned at the Northwood Idea Center:
• Startup Ideation Workshop: Have a revolutionary startup idea? This is your chance to take your business out of the idea stage in a dynamic, group setting. This event is set to take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13.
• Professional headshots: Put your sharpest outfit together and stop by to capture your perfect, professional headshot. This service will be free for Northwood students and at minimal cost to the public from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13.
• Entrepreneurship panel: Learn about the infrastructure of entrepreneurship and the unseen elements that go into scaling every successful business from a panel of industry experts in the community. This will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14.
• Entrepreneurship mixer: Socialize with Northwood students and faculty, as well as local entrepreneurs and business professionals, in a casual meetup from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16.
• NU Startup Sprint: Transform your ideas into reality. The NU Startup Sprint is a condensed workshop, set for 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, designed to kickstart your business from seasoned mentors. Click https://forms.office.com/r/afbbpBTMze to register.
