Jonathan Williams is set to deliver a keynote presentation at Northwood University’s 13th Annual Bay Harbor Symposium on Saturday, August 3 starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Bay Harbor Yacht Club in Bay Harbor, Michigan.
Williams is a Northwood Alumnus and is the Chief Economist and Vice President for the Center for State Fiscal Reform at the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), where he works to develop fiscal policy solutions for the states. In addition, Williams is the co-author of the annual Rich States, Poor States: ALEC-Laffer Economic State Competitive Index with fellow economists Arthur Laffer and Stephen Moore.
Williams is a graduate of Northwood University where he received his Bachelors of Business Administration in banking and finance, economics and business management. He is also a contributing author to Northwood University’s 10th annual In Defense of Capitalism.
The symposium, “Why Some States Are Prospering, and Others Are Not,” also features Northwood’s Timothy Nash, Senior Vice President and Director of Robert C. and Janice McNair Center for the Advancement of Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at Northwood University. Nash, who is continuously analyzing key indicators in the economic landscape, will provide highlights on Michigan’s economy and a national economic review of the year so far.
Incoming Northwood University President and CEO Dr. Kent MacDonald will serve as the master of ceremonies for the symposium. Northwood University hosts the annual event for friends and family of the university; the public is welcome at no charge.
