Northwood University Professor Steve Brazill spent the recent Christmas holiday teaching Dealership Financial Statement Analysis and Dealership General Management courses at Jilin University/Lambton College in Changchun, China. The courses were part of a three-year auto industry management curriculum which incorporates components of Northwood’s signature automotive marketing and management programs offered in the United States. Northwood is a small university with a large footprint in the global auto industry—it is the only degree-granting institution to offer automotive marketing and management curriculums in China (the world’s largest auto market) and the United States (the world’s second largest market).“This is a great program for Chinese students,” says Brazill. “Manufacturers are opening hundreds of new dealerships a year and the need for experienced managers—in dealerships or in the marketing arms of manufacturers—is huge. Many of our alumni are moving into important positions in the industry very quickly.”
Professor Brazill is usually found preparing American students for productive careers in the automotive industry from classrooms at Northwood University’s campus in Cedar Hill, Texas.
