Bauervic Pitch Competition rescheduled for April 12

March 21, 2023
A group of people in business attire stand and pose in front of a Northwood University podium with a blue curtain backdrop, celebrating their participation in the Bauervic Pitch Competition held on April 12.

More than $5,000 is up for grabs in this year’s Bauervic Pitch Competition, where students present a business idea to win start-up funding.

Students can pitch their idea individually or as a team, and there will be support along the way in the form of workshops, most of which will take place at the Idea Center in Downtown Midland.

The competition will take place at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in Sloan 114. Students will have five minutes to present their idea. Technology will be available for students to display slide decks.

Prizes are as follows: $3,000 for 1st place; $2,000 for 2nd place; and $1,000 for third place. The prize money is to be used to further the winning business ideas.

This business start-up competition is made possible by a generous gift from the Charles M. Bauervic Foundation. The pitch competition originally was scheduled to take place in February. However, it was postponed due to inclement weather.
