Northwood University is pleased to announce one of its adjunct faculty members has been inducted into the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame.
Bonnie Johnson-Hayward serves the insurance industry as both an insurance agency executive and an educator in her position as an adjunct professor at Northwood University.
“The Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame was established in 1994 as a way to pay tribute to individuals like our own Bonnie Johnson-Hayward for making a significant impact on the Michigan insurance and risk management industry,” stated Michael Burkhardt, Northwood Insurance & Risk Management faculty lead.
Johnson-Hayward has been active in the insurance industry since 1991 and is currently vice president and COO of the General Agency Company in Mount Pleasant. She holds a number of professional designations and certifications in addition to undergraduate and master’s degrees from Central Michigan University. She works with the insurance program at the Wilson Talent Center; has served on committees with the Big “I” in Michigan; and is an active community volunteer.
“Here at Northwood University, Bonnie teaches insurance principles, underwriting, and claims along with volunteering her time to serve on our Insurance & Risk Management Advisory Council,” Burkhardt noted.
Also serving on the council is Cal Ieuter, of Ieuter Insurance. Ieuter also was inducted into the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame.
Burkhardt noted Insurance & Risk Management students at Northwood are provided a superior educational classroom experience in part because of advisors like Ieuter and faculty like Johnson-Hayward.
“All of us at Northwood University congratulate Bonnie and Cal on this career milestone of being inducted into the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame,” Burkhardt added.
