The Northwood University Mock Trial team successfully competed in the 2022 American Mock Trial Association’s (AMTA) Regional Tournament, Feb. 26-27.
Northwood earned a chance to compete in AMTA’s Opening Round Championships Series tournament next month by winning their trial against the University of Toronto, Washburn University and Central Methodist University.
Northwood will compete in AMTA’s Opening Round Championships Series tournament along with Case Western Reserve University, Eastern Kentucky University, Arizona State University, Hamilton College and Cornell University.

In addition to the team’s success, Aidan Garvie earned an Outstanding Witness Award, and Lukas Baker won an Outstanding Attorney Award.
During the final tournament before the AMTA season began, Northwood attended its final virtual invitational tournament in January at the University of South Carolina. Northwood placed third by winning ballots against the University of Oregon, College of William and Mary, as well as two separate teams from the University of South Carolina. Northwood was in the top six finishers, which included Emory University, University of South Carolina, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and University of Wisconsin.
