Our Fall Semester Omniquest selection is Love Your Enemies: How Decent People Can Save America from the Culture of Contempt, by Arthur C. Brooks, a social scientist and New York Times best-selling author. We deeply appreciate the careful consideration of the ad hoc committee consisting of Dale Matcheck, Stacy Romanchuk, Todd Brundrett and Tim Nash who made the recommendation.
The committee stated, “We felt the message of ending political polarization was timely would be welcomed by students and faculty alike.” The committee noted, “…written by a leading defender of the free enterprise system, it is not polemical and could help to create a culture of free inquiry and respect for others.” The selection committee noted the book contains practical advice on “disagreeing better” and principled leadership.
