The Automotive Marketing department at Northwood University announces the selection of Kristin Hammond as general chair, and Christina Salmon as vice chair, of the 51st Annual Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS).Northwood University will host the 2014 NUIAS on its scenic campus located at 4000 Whiting Drive in Midland on October 10, 11 and 12 and expects upwards of 60,000 attendees.
The theme of this year’s show is “Take the Wheel,” which according General Chair Kristin Hammond, “will put consumers back in touch with what makes the car so wonderful. What matters most to consumer is convenience and freedom. We are being intentional in making this show all about empowering the car buyer.”
The daughter of Andy and Vicki Hammond of Alma, Michigan, Kristin Hammond, is a senior in her fourth year of involvement with NUIAS. She previously served as a member of team Watersports, a member of team Chevrolet, and on the Executive Board as the Public Relations Chair of the 50th NUIAS. Hammond is pursuing a major in Entertainment, Sport and Promotion Management. She is an honors student and is actively involved in The Automotive Group (TAG), Entertainment Sports Promotions Management Association (ESPMA), and Business Professionals of America (BPA).
Christina Salmon is the daughter of Greg and Suzanne Salmon. She brings two years of experience to the vice chair position. Among her previous roles is Captain of Team Cadillac. Salmon is a graduate of Brighton High School. At Northwood, she is involved in campus life as a member of the Delta Zeta sorrority and she currently serves as a member of the TAG Exectutive Board while she pursues a BBA/MBA in Automotive Marketing and Management.
With team captains and co-captains selected, teams are filling up quickly as participants prepare for the fast approaching show this fall. Students are excited to implement interactive and informative displays containing over 500 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, experimental, concept and specialty vehicles in addition to an extensive aftermarket exhibit.
